This gilas 3 really personified the true meaning of laban pilipinas. They weren't the most talented and younger iteration of gilas but this team overachieved under the titulage of coach tab. Imagine the main bigs are the aging Taulava and Thoss the only true shooter was dondon but the trio of Castro Romeo Abueva carried the flag with some gilas mainstay and the elder stateman.

Gilas is not in their best lineup but reached the finals. See how marvelous our coach is.

This also happened to our last game in our school, we had the finals then this referee was blind lol My teammate got his face slapped and there is no call, my other teammate was pushed but no call, I wish bad refs would be removed from basketball

The greatest what if sa kasaysayan ng Gilas Pilipinas. Ito yung panahon na hindi pinayagan ng kani kanilang mothers teams sila Fajardo, Japeth, Tenorio at Greg Slaughter. Sa laban na to na expose talaga yung height disadvantage ng line up natin sa Skills at Talent lamang ang Gilas sa Height lang talaga tumaob. Ubos ang foul dito nila Taulava, Thoss at Abueva kahit anong box out nila hindi natin makuha yung rebounds doon tayo natalo. Sayang no? Ito sana yung pinakamalaking chance na manalo ng Ginto ang bansa natin sa FIBA Asia. Anyways tapos na to at looking forward nako sa Gilas 2023 kung saan marami na tayong skilled, talented big man hehe. Golden age of Philippine Basketball is coming

We're proud, because this nat'l team of the PH has a lot of shoo-ins. Sonny Thoss, Asi Taulava, Hontiveros, etc. Baldwin is just too good to be a coach that we defeat Iran and finished as runner-up to be able to qualify to QT. If we're just healthy and complete, we could've defeated this dumplings.

Seriously, when you talk about real attitude of Filipinos vs Chinese citizens... just observe the crowd here vs the crowd in FIBA ASIA 2013. China may have the better facility, but hosting is better in other countries and I mean, any other countries in Asia.

Philippines may not have Blatche now but I'm still excited to see Abueva and Norwood got some piece of China again. I don't care who'll win but I'm more interested to see a rematch and in a neutral ground this time with our real Gilas players. Oh and when China played in the last Olympics, I just got bored, they're like rags, every team is like stepping on them. No serious disrespect, but that's how I really felt while watching them.
